Community outreach

At the heart of OCFA is our commitment to the communities we serve. We strive to build lasting relationships by providing resources, education, and support that empower residents to take an active role in fire safety. Through collaboration, we are fostering stronger, more resilient neighborhoods that are prepared for whatever comes their way.

Fire Station Tours

Visit your local OCFA Fire Station. Tours are available Monday through Saturday, 9 AM – 11 AM and 1 PM – 4 PM. Tours last about 30 minutes and must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance.

Guidelines:

  • Maximum of 25 people per group
  • 1 adult per 5 children for supervision purposes
  • No birthday parties
  • For children ages 5 and up
Note: These are active fire stations, so tours may be paused or rescheduled if emergency calls occur.

School Visits

Invite OCFA firefighters to your school for an engaging fire safety presentation. Students will learn about fire prevention, emergency response, and the important role of firefighters in the community. Each visit lasts about 30-45 minutes.

Guidelines:

  • One visit per school, per calendar year
  • Students must be 5 years or older
  • We encourage multiple classrooms and grades to participate
  • Visits are for educational purposes only
Note: These are active fire stations, so tours may be paused or rescheduled if emergency calls occur.

Community Events

OCFA firefighters and educators are proud to participate in a variety of community events, supporting public safety education. Our attendance is based on staff availability and is focused on events that serve and educate the community.

Event Guidelines:

  • We cannot attend birthday parties or promotional events for private businesses
  • Fire crews and engines remain on duty and must be able to leave quickly if needed
Note: These are active fire stations, so tours may be paused or rescheduled if emergency calls occur.

Safety Presentations

OCFA offers educational safety presentations for businesses, civic groups, and community organizations. Topics include fire safety, disaster preparedness, senior safety, and drowning prevention. Presentations are available Monday through Friday.

Presentation Guidelines:

  • Minimum attendance: 15 people
  • Must be held in a public location (no private residences)
